Customer-Supplied Pergola Installation
Premier Assembly specializes in assembling and installing customer-supplied pergolas. You purchase the structure from the retailer or manufacturer of your choice; we sort the components, assemble the pergola, and secure it to its surface. We don't sell pergolas.
Every build starts with the manufacturer's instructions and the surface on your property — a patio, a wood or composite deck, or pavers and interlock — and the anchoring is matched to both.

Types of Pergolas We Install
We assemble and install customer-supplied prefabricated pergola kits across the common materials and styles homeowners buy, where the project is within our scope.

Aluminum / Metal
Aluminum and metal pergola kits — including louvered and freestanding models — assembled and anchored following the manufacturer's instructions.

Wood
Prefabricated wood pergola kits assembled panel by panel following the manufacturer's instructions on your prepared surface.

Freestanding & Louvered
Freestanding pergolas that stand on their own posts, and adjustable-roof (louvered) models with moving louvres assembled per the manufacturer.
Wall-mounted pergolas that attach to a wall on one side are also within scope where the wall construction and the product's hardware allow — reviewed before quoting.
Brands Represented in Our Projects
Premier Assembly has completed pergola installations involving the brands below. We’re an independent installer — brand names are for identification only and don’t imply affiliation, endorsement or a partnership with any manufacturer or retailer.
Sojag and Domi are among the pergola brands we’ve installed — each has a dedicated brand experience page.

How Pergola Installation Differs From Gazebo Installation
Pergolas and gazebos are both outdoor structures, but the build differs in a few practical ways:
| Aspect | Pergola | Gazebo |
|---|---|---|
| Roof | Open-slat or adjustable (louvered) roof — typically no solid enclosed roof. | Solid, enclosed roof that fully covers the structure. |
| Enclosure | Open sides — posts and beams, no wall panels. | Often enclosed with wall panels or screens. |
| Mounting | Freestanding posts, or wall-mounted on one side. Anchoring is to the surface (and sometimes a wall). | Freestanding posts anchored to the surface. |
| Moving parts | Louvered models have an adjustable roof mechanism assembled per the manufacturer. | Typically a fixed roof with no moving parts. |
Because of these differences, anchoring and assembly steps aren't the same for both. We follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific product.
Installation Surfaces
We install pergolas on the surface you already have. Each surface has its own anchoring considerations and is reviewed — with photos and the product's requirements — before we confirm.
Concrete / Patio
Often suitable where the slab is reasonably level and in sound condition. Anchoring typically uses concrete screws or expansion anchors per the product's instructions. We review photos of the slab before confirming.
Wood Deck
Often suitable where the deck is structurally sound and level, and the posts can be fastened into framing following the product's guidance. We don't engineer or certify deck load capacity.
Composite Deck
Considerations include the deck's framing and whether the product's mounting hardware can be secured as the manufacturer specifies. Composite surfaces and hidden fastener systems can affect the method — reviewed before quoting.
Interlock / Pavers
Often suitable. The method is reviewed against the surface, the structure and the manufacturer's instructions. The paver installation and base affect how posts can be secured.
We don't engineer or certify structural load capacity. The structure and surface must be suitable for the product and its manufacturer's requirements.
Anchoring
Where the manufacturer's instructions call for it, we secure the pergola with hardware matched to the surface — concrete screws or expansion anchors for concrete, lag bolts into framing for decks, and a reviewed method for pavers and interlock. The right approach depends on the structure, the surface, and the product's own guidance.
For wall-mounted pergolas, the wall construction and the product's mounting hardware are reviewed before we confirm. We don't engineer or certify structural load capacity; the structure and surface must be suitable for the product.
We don't make universal claims about wind ratings or snow loads — those are product-specific and set by the manufacturer. Refer to your product's documentation for any rated specifications.
Site Preparation
A prepared site keeps the build on schedule. Before installation day:
- A level, suitable surface per the manufacturer's requirements
- The pergola kit on site with all packaging together
- Clear access to the install location (gates, stairs, carry distance)
- Working room around the footprint for the crew
- The manufacturer's instructions or product information
- A check of the parts against the manufacturer's list, if you can
Tell us in advance if an existing structure needs to be removed — disassembly is a separate scope.
Access and Working Space
Installers need clear access to the install location and working room around the footprint to stage components, lift beams into place and square the build safely. Tell us about stairs, narrow gates, fences or a long carry when you request a quote — access affects both feasibility and time.
Pergola Size and Model Requirements
Your product's size and model drive the build. A larger footprint means more components, more lifting and more working room. Wall-mounted and louvered models add steps that a simple freestanding kit doesn't have.
Share the brand, model and size when you request a quote so we can review whether the product is within our scope and confirm the surface, access and anchoring approach.

Missing or Damaged Components
Pergola kits contain many components. Inspect the packaging and product when you can — a quick check before installation day helps catch issues early.
- We assess missing or damaged parts on site.
- Non-critical parts may let the build continue.
- Structural parts may pause the build until a replacement arrives from the manufacturer or retailer.
- If a return trip is needed, it may involve additional charges depending on the circumstances and the agreed scope.
How Long Does Pergola Installation Take?
There's no single installation time. Duration depends on the product and the site — a simple freestanding aluminum kit on a prepared patio typically takes less time, while larger or louvered builds take longer.
Duration depends on
- Size and footprint
- Brand and model
- Material and roof type
- Number of components
- Base / surface
- Anchoring method
- Access and carry distance
- Wall-mounting requirements
- Crew size required
Your quote includes an expected duration based on your specific product and site.
What Affects the Price
We provide a private quote after reviewing your project — we don’t publish generic prices, because every job differs. Your quote is based on the variables below.
- Size and footprint
- Brand and model
- Material (aluminum, metal, wood)
- Roof type (open-slat, louvered, adjustable)
- Base / surface

- Do you install wood pergolas?
- Yes, where the prefabricated wood pergola kit is within our scope and assembled following the manufacturer's instructions on a suitable surface.
- Can a pergola be installed on a deck?
- Often, yes — wood or composite. The deck should be structurally suitable and level, and the product's mounting requirements must be met. We don't engineer or certify deck load capacity.
- Can a pergola be installed on concrete?
- Often, yes. The slab should be reasonably level and in sound condition. We review photos and the product's requirements before confirming the anchoring approach.
- Can a pergola be installed on interlock or pavers?
- Often, yes. The method is reviewed against the surface, the structure and the manufacturer's instructions before quoting.
- How is a pergola anchored?
- Where the manufacturer's instructions call for it, we secure the pergola with hardware matched to the surface — concrete screws or expansion anchors for concrete, lag bolts into framing for decks, and a reviewed method for pavers. The approach depends on the product and surface and is confirmed before quoting.
- How much does pergola installation cost?
- We provide a quote after reviewing your project — we don't publish generic prices because every job differs by size, material, surface, anchoring and access. Send the brand, model, size, city, surface and photos for your quote.
- How long does pergola installation take?
- It depends on size, material, model, access, surface and crew. Your quote includes an expected duration based on your specific product.
- What photos do you need to quote my pergola?
- Photos of the installation surface, the full footprint, access to the area (gates, stairs, carry distance), and the product if it has already arrived. Product brand, model and size help us quote accurately.
- What should I do before the installer arrives?
