Can a Gazebo Be Installed on Interlock or Pavers?
By Premier Assembly
Interlock and paver surfaces can host a gazebo — but surface condition, the structure, and the anchoring method all need a project-specific review.
Yes — a gazebo can often be installed on interlock or pavers. These surfaces are common in the backyards we work in, and many customer-supplied gazebos are assembled and anchored directly onto an existing patio.
No two paver projects are the same, though, so the surface, the structure, and how it can be anchored all need to be looked at together.
Paver and interlock conditions vary
The surface you have makes a real difference. Things that matter:
- How level and settled the pavers are
- Whether the base under the pavers is stable
- The size and joint pattern of the stones
- Whether the area is large enough for the full gazebo footprint
Pavers that have shifted, sunk, or heaved over time can affect how a structure sits and how it can be fastened down.
The structure matters too
A heavy hardtop gazebo and a lighter soft-top structure behave differently on a paver surface. The manufacturer's instructions usually guide whether the structure is intended to be anchored, and how.
Anchoring method must be reviewed
There's no universal answer for anchoring into pavers or interlock. The right method depends on the structure, the surface, and the manufacturer's guidance. In some cases anchoring fastens into the joint or through the paver; in others the structure's weight and design form the hold.

Why photos and site information help
Because paver projects vary so much, a few photos of the surface, the product, and the surrounding space help determine the scope before quoting. Clear shots of any settled or uneven areas are especially useful.

We don't make unsupported structural claims about paver installations and we don't guarantee a specific anchoring method without reviewing your project.

- Can you anchor a gazebo into pavers?
- It depends on the structure and the surface. The method is reviewed for each project; sometimes fasteners go into joints or through pavers, and sometimes the structure's own weight and design provide the hold.
- Do uneven pavers need to be fixed first?
- Significantly settled or heaved pavers can affect how the structure sits. If your surface is uneven, mention it and send photos so we can review.
- Is interlock a good surface for a hardtop gazebo?
- It often is, provided the base is stable and level. The structure's instructions and the paver condition both factor into the approach.
- Will you lift or relay my pavers?
- No. We install on the surface you have. If paver levelling is needed, arrange that before installation.
